The Race will be on the 26th June 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Barinatxe beach (also called La Salvaje), located between Sopelana and Getxo villages (Bizkaia).
Foregoing Information
It was in 1999 when Patxi Ros, sports and naturism lover, tried to mix both of his favourite hobbies turning the idea out to be a first edition of "The Sopelana Naturist Race". This was a pioneer sports event in the Iberic Peninsula, not because of its distance to run nor for the peculiar way or place where it was run, but because all the running participants had to run in the nude.
In 2003 the Basque Country Naturist Club (ENE) took over this Race and renamed it as "Patxi Ros Trophy" with the goal and purpose to promote the Naturist way of life and to develop a healthy life style along with Naturism and sports. The Race was renamed in honour and recognition to its founder who worked and developed this Race in an altruistic and remarkable way during all of the past editions of this Naturist sport event.

How to get there
How to get there
Driving by car from Bilbao on the BI-634 road all the way to Sopelana, and there you will find a road diverting towards the beach where there is a parking area. Then you must walk down to the beach from the upper side of the cliffs where all vehicles are parked.
It is also possible to arrive by bus from Bilbao if you take the Areeta-Armintza bus line, which has a departure frequency one every hour. Also the Metro (subway) can be used in Bilbao if taking the Bolueta-Larrabasterra line which stops every 10 minutes.
You must know that Sopelana village has several beaches. The one where the Race will take place is known by different names like Barinattxe, La Salvaje or Larrabasterra, however most of the signs you will find indicate Barinatxe.

5000 meters (3.107 miles) on compact sand at the time when the tide is low.
Children’s Category participants will start running at the same time Adult’s, Category but will run a shorter distance.

Last minute: Participants can also sign-up the same day of the Race not later than 11:30 a.m. at the Barrinatxe (La Salvaje) beach.

Rules for the race
Signing-up as a participant for the Naturist Sopelana Race (Patxi Ros Trophy) means a knowledge and acceptance of all the following stated points:

Participants by all means are to run in full nudity, but are only allowed to wear a cap or hat on the head, sun glasses, socks and footwear. Any participant not conforming this rule will immediately be disqualified and asked to leave the Race by the organisation members.

The participants yield the right to be photographed , to the Organizers of the Race and to the legally authorized media present, being conscious that their aforementioned photographs could be used for other similar sporting events or for the general promotion of Naturism and its philosophy at al local or internal level.

The participants will also accept, referring to the information provided, the norms of ENE relative to Personal Data Protection.

Participants will be awarded prizes only if reaching the finishing line in first, second or third position of his/her category running on the designated track.

ESTIPULACIONES RELATIVAS AL REGIMEN DE PROTECCION DE TRATAMIENTO AUTOMATIZADO DE DATOS DE CARACTER PERSONAL (Ley Orgánica 15/1999)
Los participantes en la Carrera prestan su pleno consentimiento para que ENE trate automáticamente los datos de carácter personal que han facilitado en el impreso de inscripción en la Carrera Nudista de Sopelana (Trofeo Patxi Ros 1998). Dichos datos se podrán incorporar al fichero o ficheros automatizados de ENE, de los cuales será responsable.
Los participantes en la Carrera tendrán el derecho a acceder a dichos ficheros automatizados, así como el de corregir y cancelar su contenido si este fuese erróneo, así como el de oposición.
Los participantes en la Carrera autorizan a ENE para utilizar dicha información en cuantas actividades abarca la Carrera Nudista de Sopelana (Trofeo Patxi Ros 1998), y a para remitirles cualquier información que tenga por conveniente, siempre y cuando guarde relación con el dicha carrera.
Los participantes no autorizan a ENE la cesión de sus datos de carácter personal a terceros, salvo indicación expresa de los mismos en contra.
Para cualquier cuestión relativa al tratamiento automatizado de datos los participantes en la Carrera podrán dirigirse al Secretario de ENE.
La condición de participantes en la Carrera supone el conocimiento y la aceptación expresa, en lo referente a los datos personales de cada participante, de los términos de estas estipulaciones relativas al Régimen del Tratamiento Automatizado de Datos de Carácter Personal.
